Bogota, Colombia (AHN) - Results of the DNA tests have proven the Colombian rebels were bluffing. Emmanuel, the son of hostage Clara Rojas by a rebel, was no longer in the hands of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, but safe in a Bogota foster home. Earlier, the FARC said they were set to release Emmanuel, Rojas and another female hostage, a congresswoman, in exchange for the release of several of their comrades in Colombian jails. But the DNA test confirmed they were not holding the boy. In a statement posted on its website, FARC said the boy was released to "honest people while the humanitarian accord was being signed." FARC said Emmanuel should not be caught in the middle when Colombian military operations implement its offensive against the rebel group.
